Outdoor prayer and reflection

Walk the prayer labyrinth at Santa Teresa Church

A peaceful outdoor path for prayer, reflection, and quiet time with God in South San Jose.

A quiet path to slow down and pray

The prayer labyrinth at Santa Teresa Church is a sacred outdoor space for anyone seeking peace, clarity, or a deeper connection with God.

Unlike a maze, a labyrinth has one continuous path. You do not have to solve it or find your way out. You simply walk, pray, listen, and return.

Whether you come with a specific intention, a heavy heart, a moment of gratitude, or a need for silence, the labyrinth offers a simple way to be present with God.

What is a prayer labyrinth?

A prayer labyrinth is a walking path used for reflection and prayer. In Christian tradition, labyrinths have helped people turn ordinary steps into a quiet spiritual journey.

As you walk toward the center, you may choose to release distractions, worries, or burdens. At the center, pause and rest in God’s presence. As you walk back out, carry that peace with you into daily life.

This is not a maze. There are no dead ends. The path itself is the prayer.

How to walk the labyrinth

There is no perfect way to pray with a labyrinth. Walk slowly, breathe, and let each step become part of your prayer.

Prepare

Pause at the entrance. Take a breath. Offer God your prayer, question, gratitude, or concern.

Walk

Follow the path at your own pace. You may pray silently, repeat a Scripture verse, or simply listen.

Reflect

Pause at the center. When you are ready, walk the path back out and carry your prayer with you.

Be still, and know that I am God.

Psalm 46:10

The labyrinth invites us to step away from noise and hurry so we can become more aware of God’s presence.

You are welcome to walk the labyrinth before or after Mass, during a visit to the church grounds, or whenever you need a few peaceful moments outdoors.
