Father Edgar Elamparo, Pastor of Santa Teresa Parish
Raised in Manila, Philippines, Father Edgar Elamparo grew up in a devout Catholic household deeply shaped by his grandparents’ active ministry in Zambales. After earning a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science, he pursued a successful career in technology before his journey of spiritual discernment brought him to the United States in 2004.
Father Edgar’s faith path took a turn during his involvement with Saint Maria Goretti Church in San Jose. In 2009 he participated in a discernment retreat at Saint Patrick’s Seminary, which illuminated his calling to the priesthood. He was ordained in 2011 after completing formation at both Saint Patrick’s Seminary & University and Mundelein Seminary. Since then, Father Edgar has served in a variety of culturally diverse parishes across California and Illinois, bringing compassion, insight, and an inclusive pastoral approach to his ministry.
On July 1, 2025, he assumed the role of Pastor at Santa Teresa Parish in San Jose, as announced in the Diocese of San Jose’s official clergy assignments. He welcomes the opportunity to guide the community in faith, service, and fellowship.
