Are you looking for an opportunity to grow in your faith, in your relationship with Christ, and in holiness? Do you enjoy working with children or youth? You may have a special calling to be a catechist or aide in our Children & Youth Faith Formation Program! As Pope Francis reminded us on World Youth Day, we are all called to “proclaim Christ…and be witnesses of our faith.” What better way to pass on our Faith than working with our children and youth. Our Faith Formation Program meets monthly on Sunday afternoon for ongoing Faith Formation and Tuesday evening for preparation for sacraments. We provide everything you need to teach and training is available for all catechists and aides. (Program registration fees are waived for catechists with children in the program). If you think you might be interested teaching or assisting in the Sunday or the Tuesday sessions and would like to know more about this rewarding and essential ministry please contact Nancy Royal in the Parish Office.

Is your child or youth “On the road” with Jesus? It’s all about discipleship! From infancy to our final days in this lifetime, we are all in the process of “Faith Formation” – learning about and growing in our Faith and discipleship and deepening our encounter with Christ.

Ongoing Faith Formation
Faith Formation is an ongoing process. We offer ongoing classes for children and youth in Grade 1 through High School and their families to grow closer to God and be formed in our faith through prayer and worship, leading a moral life, participating in projects to help the poor, learning about what we believe as Catholics, becoming immersed in the life of the parish community, and celebrating sacraments

Our Faith Formation Program includes preparing for and celebrating sacraments. Santa Teresa Church is a “Restored Sequence of the Sacraments” parish. This means that Confirmation and First Eucharist are prepared for and celebrated at the same time. For First Eucharist, Confirmation, and First Reconciliation (Grade 2 and older) your child must participate in the Faith Formation program a minimum of two consecutive years, including the year that the sacraments are celebrated.

When do classes meet and who attends?

  • Monthly Sunday classes: 1:15p-3:15p – All students attend the monthly Sunday classes
  • Monthly Tuesday classes: 6:30p-8:30p  – Those preparing to receive sacraments in the spring of 2019 attend these classes in addition to the Sunday classes.
